Gillard bows to political correctness

Shame Julia, shame!

After being chastised by the Greens and the homosexual lobby for accepting the role of speaker at the Australian Christian Lobby' s National Conference, Julia Gillard has bowed to political correctness and withdrawn.

This was due, she said, to Jim Wallace's reply to a question after a debate with the Greens in Tasmania, where he said that homosexual health issues were worse than the health issues caused by smoking.

Julia Gillard said the remarks were heartless and insensitive.

After the debate, Mr Wallace was the victim of hate speech and vilification by the Greens' Christine Milne and activist Rodney Croome.

If Julia Gillard had read the full reports she would have seen that Jim Wallace's words were compassionate, understanding, and plain statements of fact, while the other two spoke words that were hate-filled rants aimed at Christians.

But not a word to them from Julia.

Now one of the greatest arguments against same sex unions is the loss of freedoms being experienced overseas where homosexual marriage has been legalised.

Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of personal and civil rights are being eroded at an alarming rate.

We are already beginning to follow the same paths here and with Julia Gillard's withdrawal from the ACL conference, she has just put the first nail in the coffin of freedom of speech in Australia.

The irony of course is that the subject of Julia Gillard's speech to the ACL was to be Religious Freedom in a Democratic Society.

Shame Julia, shame.
