SOUTH Coast builder Strongbuild has won two national awards at the 2015 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards.
The Nowra-based business took out both the 2015 Australian Special Purpose Housing Project Award and the Australian Townhouse/Villa Development Award.
The winning projects were unveiled on Friday night before hundreds of industry leaders at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The awards are a platform to showcase the talents of the nation's top builders and designers. Winners are selected from state-based finalists.
The recent recognition follows on from Strongbuild being named a finalist in six divisions of the HIA NSW Region awards and winner in three. It also won the coveted HIA NSW Professional Medium Builder of the Year and Townhome Builder of the Year awards. That led to its inclusion as a finalist for three divisions in the national awards.
The Australian Special Purpose Housing Project Award, sponsored by HIA Vehicles, recognised housing designed and built to meet the needs of a specific group of the community.
The award was presented for Strongbuild's Arbour Retirement Village at Berry.
The judges said each of the dwellings reflected the attention to detail and quality of a one-off, bespoke build.
The Australian Townhouse/Villa Development Award, sponsored by Rheem Australia, recognised excellence in multiple dwelling residential projects and was awarded to Stage 3 of Strongbuild's Norwest Central.
The development consists of two-storey, freestanding homes and attached terrace-style homes, all with quality fittings and fixtures.
HIA NSW executive director David Bare said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards were the pinnacle awards program in the residential building industry.
Mr Bare said Strongbuild winning two awards against such a high standard of builders and projects from right across the country was a fantastic achievement.
Strongbuild director Jamie Strong said the Shoalhaven company set its standards as high as it could, was proud to be acknowledged in such a competitive arena and thanked his "incredible team".
