LockedIn is the brainchild of Austinmer Dance Theatre's artistic director Michelle Forte, who explores the effects the conflicts have had on a generation of young people growing up around violence and numerous civilian casualties.
"Instead of being concerned about pimples and what outfit to wear, the youth in Gaza are preoccupied with staying alive," Ms Forte said.
"While the work is not in the sense literal, company members have done extensive research into the subject matter and created their own "character", which stays with them throughout the production. Creating their own character gives the performers a strong story [on which] to base their artistic purpose."
The LockedIn cast comprises nine artists who will perform cutting-edge contemporary dance theatre. The production will be staged at Coniston's Phoenix Theatre on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are still available for the Saturday matinee and Friday shows at 5pm and 8pm.
