Colin Mathew Rosina, from Warrawong, and Nikolce Tuftevski, from Cordeaux Heights, appeared in Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday charged with a series of drug-related offences, including supplying commercial quantities of ecstasy, following a three-month investigation by Lake Illawarra detectives attached to Strike Force Bayli.
The men were arrested and their homes searched on Tuesday night after officers seized approximately 2000 ecstasy pills in an operation at Cringila earlier in the day.
Police allege Rosina, 44, had set up his Todd Street home as a drug premises, however it was the Plumbwood Circuit house belonging to 30-year-old Tuftevski where officers claim they found up to 10,000 ecstasy pills and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine (ice).
Police say the street value of drugs seized is more than $500,000.
Neither Rosina nor Tuftevski applied for bail during their brief appearances in Port Kembla Local Court via videolink from the cells under Wollongong Police Station on Wednesday.
Lawyers for both men asked for prosecutors to begin gathering the brief of evidence against their clients.
They said both men would be making applications for bail next Wednesday.
