Mrs Huckel, 83, will contribute 10 works which will show her broad range of her skills as a painter and fibre artist.
The former TAFE West Wollongong art and design teacher said she was exhibiting at The Village Building Company 2015 Bulli Show as a way of supporting and connecting with her community.
"I love the area and I'm a child of the area," she said. "Most of the people in Woonona when I was a child were in some way related to my family, the community was so tight."
Mrs Huckel was born in Woonona in an old miner's cottage, and the northern suburbs were her playground in the 1930s and early 1940s.
"We live in paradise," she said. "As a child I went to the beach every day in summer or I walked up the mountain with my brothers. I just think we are so lucky and why not give something back?"
Art has been a long-time passion of Mrs Huckel, who started classes when she was five.
"I'd go over to the creek across the road and get some clay and make little objects and my mother would bake them in the oven, and she gave me a wall to do my drawings," she said.
"Art is a wonderful thing to have because everything around you is so beautiful. You see beauty and colour where others may not."
She said she painted more than the eye could see.
The show, held at the Bulli Showground, features many attractions including pavilion exhibits, amusement rides, market and food stalls, shearing and blacksmith displays.
A fireworks display will be held on Saturday night.
