Mr Gazzard lived at the property with his wife after retiring from his Sydney practice in 1995 and worked from it as a sole practitioner until late 2006.
The architect, who was responsible for the conservation of architecture in Paddington and Balmain, then relocated to Melbourne, where he continues to practise as an architect.
The home at 68 Misty Lane, Jamberoo, is now on the market for offers above $2.5 million.
Its current owners have used the property, titled Cloud Break, as a home away from home and they have also let it as an exclusive holiday rental retreat.
The private rainforest retreat, set on 364,217 square metres, with panoramic north-easterly views across the coastline, is listed with Hamish Armytage of South Coast Lifestyle Property.
The original house Mr Gazzard built consisted of two silver, parallelogram-shaped corrugated iron pods - one with the living, dining and kitchen areas, the other with two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The current owners have added a separate pod that maintains the unusual parallelogram shape of the original structure, but has a striking curved roof and is made from rust red corrugated iron.
This pod, with a master bedroom and spacious en suite, is connected to the other living areas by a covered walkway.
There is also a light-filled artist's studio.
"There is significant potential to extend this accommodation or enjoy this unique property as a private home and take in the extraordinary surroundings," Mr Armytage said.
Other features include slow combustion fireplace, underfloor heating as well as reverse cycle air-conditioning, instant gas hot water, and stainless steel appliances.
There is a garage with a workbench and loft storage and a large shed for large garden machinery and car space.
