On Sunday, police announced a $100,000 reward for information about the murder of Waverley man Lynn Tasman Jones, who disappeared in June 2009.
His remains were found in the Royal National Park, off Lady Wakehurst Drive near Helensburgh, by bush walkers in October 2013.
Eastern Suburbs detectives believe he was murdered.
The case is one of at least seven with local links where substantial rewards are being offered for information.
In total, $800,000 is on offer across the cases, according to the NSW Police Force's website.
A $200,000 reward is offered for information on Rachelle Childs, whose burnt body was found in a ditch near Gerroa in 2001.
Kathleen Harris disappeared from her Huskisson home in 1999, and has never been seen since. A $100,000 has been offered for information on her case.
Teenage girls Toni Cavanagh and Kay Docherty, aged 15 and 16, went missing from Warilla in July 1979. Police presume them murdered, and in 2009, a $100,000 reward was offered.
Deborah Balken and Gillian Jamieson disappeared in July 1980, after telling a friend they had travelled to Wollongong. A 2006 coronial investigation ruled the women had died, and serial killer Ivan Milat was named as a person of interest.
A $100,000 reward is on offer for information on their disappearance. Wollongong toddler Cheryl Grimmer was kidnapped from Fairy Meadow Beach in January 1970. A 2011 inquest ruled she had been murdered, and $100,000 was offered for further information.
The body of Lillian Rigby, 66, was found on January 15. Another $100,000 is on offer.
