Illawarra motorists travelling north of Wollongong are being told to expect delays due to hazard reduction burns in the Royal National Park.
The Traffic Management Centre has advised there are major delays for motorists on the Princes Highway, between Kirrawee and Loftus, due to a burn off in the park.
‘‘There is reduced visibility in the area due to the thick black smoke from the burn,’’ said a statement issued by the centre this afternoon.
‘‘There is also one southbound lane closed on the Princes Highway through Kirrawee, adding to the delays.’’
Motorists planning on using the Princes Highway are being advised to allow plenty of extra travel time and exercise caution.
