Not too many people get butterflies in their stomach before they head off to work each day.
But Luis Daza does and for good reason - his job involves being shot out of a cannon and flying metres through the air to thrill the crowd at the Great Euro Circus.
Daza, originally from Madrid, Spain, has been training to be a human cannonball for eight years and Illawarra audiences can now watch him being catapulted through the giant big top and landing in a specially designed airbag.
Europe's largest circus is on tour for the first time in Australia with acts from Europe and around the world performing at Dapto Showground from Wednesday until Sunday.
As well as Daza flying through the air, the circus will feature Australia's own FMX Freestyle Kings, breakdancing acrobats, knife throwers, world-renowned comedy act Val de Fun and five motorbike riders taking on the daring Dome of Death.
The circus opened in Dapto last Friday. Shows are held at 7.30pm, Wednesday to Saturday. On Saturday there is an extra show at 2pm. The Sunday show is at 3pm.
The Great Euro Circus will then head to Bulli Showground from June 17 to 21.
