Shoalhaven Coast Wine Association president Shayne Bricker was confident of at least a 30 per cent growth in visitor numbers to cellar doors for the 2015 festival.

Last year more than 8000 people called in to wineries in the Kiama, Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla local government areas.

"Historically we have been getting 20 to 30 per cent more each year and this has easily been another 30 per cent growth," Mr Bricker said.

"We should be over the 10,000 visitor mark. I think the reason for it is organic growth. People from last year tell other people how good it was and their friends come along."

Rajarshi Ray, at Silos Estate, said his cellar door had smashed last year's record.

"It has been a fabulous weekend for the Shoalhaven Coast wineries and the weather was fantastic for the first two days," Mr Ray said.

"We had an enormous number of visitors from Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra and even further afield from interstate. It really has become a 'go to' event in the region which is terrific.

"We had far more people than last year. You only have to go to all the towns and communities ... to see the whole place was jumping, not just the vineyards.

"We were blessed we had the weather we did the first two days. It was hard to believe it was winter."

Coolangatta Estate cellar door manager Ben Wallis was also confident the total number of visitors would be around 10,000 and put it down to an increase in visitors from outside the region as well as the locals.

"I think the Wollongong crew has been absolutely fantastic this year," Mr Wallis said.

"They have really come out in force. We had some guys from the Central Coast come down. And Destination NSW was here on the weekend ... and they think it is absolutely fantastic, so that has been a great result."

Mountain Ridge Wineries' Barry Starkey said visitation had nearly doubled at the cellar door.

Mr Starkey said on Saturday there were more visitors from outside the region and on Sunday there were more locals.

It was a similar response at Roselea Vineyard where Kiama's Penny Hartgerink brought in a big crowd for her comeback performance after recently having her first baby.

Jeff Lester said the small vineyard had about 400 people each day.
