Ms Watson tabled a number of questions in State Parliament early last month, including two about the Dapto TAFE site's future.
The Mercury revealed on March 7 that Dapto TAFE classes had ceased and students had been told to study elsewhere, leaving the campus resembling a ghost town.
On May 6, Ms Watson used a question on notice to ask the Minister for Regional Development, Skills and Small Business John Barilaro if he could "guarantee that the government had no plans to close the Dapto TAFE campus".
The minister was also asked for an assurance that the campus would remain under ownership of Illawarra TAFE.
Despite having 35 days to pen a response, Mr Barilaro's answer on Wednesday said: "All TAFE NSW assets will be retained under TAFE NSW ownership for as long as they are required for the delivery of approved educational training programs".
Ms Watson described the reply as "less than underwhelming".
"That doesn't tell us anything, there is absolutely no accountability there," she said.
"This minister obviously does not want to be held accountable for the Dapto TAFE campus, so it's disappointing, very disappointing.
"I don't put questions on notice for the sake of putting questions on notice, I take them very seriously and I think the government should too."
Late last month, the NSW Teachers Federation said the lack of classes at Dapto this semester reinforced the need for a comprehensive investigation into the government's Smart and Skilled VET reforms. A TAFE spokeswoman said then Dapto courses were not yet finalised.
New students can register for Illawarra sites, including Dapto, on "Choices Day" at Wollongong campus, Saturday, 9am-1pm.
