Talia Jade Van-Rysewyk hit cyclist Brendan Braid as he rode along the Old Princes Highway just before 6.30am on January 5, 2014, flinging the 58-year-old accountant from his bike.
She then fled the scene in her damaged Ford Laser and drove to a friend's place, where she attempted to cover up her involvement in the crime.
Mr Braid was found by two cyclists a few minutes after the collision and rushed to hospital soon after, with a number of serious injuries.
Van-Rysewyk was arrested about a week later, following investigations by police.
In May, the 25-year-old was sentenced to a total 18 months' jail, with a non-parole period of nine months.
At Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday Van-Rysewyk's lawyer asked to have her client's suitability assessed for community service or an intensive corrections order.
The matter will return to court on July 24.
