The position was previously held by Kiama councillor and former Gilmore candidate Neil Reilly, who quit the party in April, citing his frustration with the ALP's stance on humanitarian issues.
There are eight ALP branches, stretching from Shellharbour to Milton-Ulladulla, with a presence in the Gilmore electorate.
Managing director of Habitat Personnel Gerry Moore, who has already declared an interest in standing as Gilmore's ALP candidate, was elected as vice-president.
Berry resident Rick Gainford was elected secretary and Jake Khourey was elected treasurer.
Mr Kolomeitz said it was pleasing to see the Gilmore ALP branches "forming a strong, united body, where everyone's views are listened to and respected and a wide range of policy ideas are debated".
"Unfortunately we lost Neil Reilly who was a good president and candidate," he said.
"The FEC committee will work closely with the Gilmore branches to prepare for the federal election campaign ... in the next 18 months."
Mr Kolomeitz said he was still consulting with rank and file members about the likelihood of him standing for preselection.
"We have two good candidates in Gerry Moore and Fiona Phillips who have put their hands up and we may have a third if that is the direction rank and file members want me to go," he said.
