Neave came first in the 12 years and under section for her rendition of the country classic Blue Moon of Kentucky.
She was accompanied on guitar by her brother Oliver.
Taught by Emily Markham at the Voiceworx School of Performing Arts at Coniston, Neave has been singing for the past three years.
"It was the first time she had sung in a country music section," said Neave's mother Julie.
Neave, a Year 5 student at St Therese Catholic Primary School at West Wollongong, is also given singing opportunities at school.
"She often sings hymns in the church solo and she sang a Christmas carol in the mall last year for her school," Mrs Ferguson said.
Neave also learns piano and is taught by the school's music teacher.
The vocal sections at Wollongong Eisteddfod continue this week with Neave competing in the songs from films G-rated, 10 years and under, and the music theatre in costume solo, 10 years only sections, on Friday.
