South Coast Wolves will look to make next weekend's 35-year reunion an even bigger celebration with a third successive triumph against Blacktown Spartans on Sunday.
Successive wins over Sutherland and Sydney United sees the club in season-best form, a week before the competition's mid-year break.
Most of the league will spend the week off to allow the Waratah Cup final to take centre stage on July 5.
South Coast will use the spare weekend to celebrate their extensive history with players past and present.
Coach Jacob Timpano hopes they can head into the occasion on a high note.
"There is a lot of history at the club and it has been around for a long time. Many people have come and gone but it is always good to see old faces around the place," he said.
"That is one of the best parts of football ... the friendships you make with fellow players.
"Even if you don't see each other for a long time, when you do catch up it feels just like yesterday.
"It is a big part of sport and football."
Timpano, who suited up for the Wolves in the old NSL, has played a big part in the club over the past decade.
He has recently inspired the club to convincing back-to-back wins since taking the coaching job.
He believes a similar display will be needed against the Spartans this weekend.
"We need to go into this game with the same attitude and same confidence," he said.
"The last couple of weeks, the way we have pressured and kept up the intensity. If we can do that again, we will be good enough to get the result.
"But they have won three games in-a-row and are flying high on confidence. For me it is going to be a tough match but one I think we can get something out of."
A win over Spartans would see the Wolves jump their rivals on the ladder before taking on Parramatta in a fortnight.
"The next two games against Spartans and Parramatta will be difficult.
"They are teams around us on the ladder and will be 'up' for the games," Timpano said.
"It is a matter of us keeping that same standard as we have had for the past couple of weeks. We need to forget about that and start looking forward. We didn't beat either of them in the first round so, hopefully, we can turn that around."
