After knocking on the door for the past month, Shell Cove finally broke through for their first win in the top flight with a 2-1 triumph over Bellambi on Saturday.
A goal in each half proved enough for the Illawarra Premier League's newest outfit to hold off the Rosellas and nab their first three points in 2015.
Cove had drawn five league matches in a row heading into the stoush with last-placed Bellambi and were finally able to put their rivals to the sword at Elizabeth Park.
"It is definitely good to get a win. It is a long time coming," Shell Cove Robert Mihailov said.
"I think things have been going OK for the past five or six weeks. On Saturday we managed to hold out. We felt confident going in. It was just a matter of holding out defensively.
"We still created a lot of chances and missed a lot chances."
Joohun Lee opened scoring for Cove after some tidy work in the attacking third.
Lee ducked inside from the flank and finished with aplomb midway through the first half.
Cove doubled the lead five minutes after half-time through Farres Aoun, well found by the game's standout player Isaac Lee.
Bellambi pulled one back 15-minutes later but couldn't bridge the gap in front of their home crowd.
"We can take a lot out of the performance," Mihailov said.
Bellambi followed up the loss by claiming a point against Port Kembla with a 1-1 draw in a round six catch up game on Sunday. Port had secured a 2-1 win a day earlier against Woonona.
In other results on Saturday, Wollongong United drew 1-1 with South Coast United and Wollongong Olympic snuck by Tarrawanna in a 3-2 win.
On Sunday, Albion Park consigned Dapto-Dandaloo to their second straight defeat with a 5-3 triumph while on Friday night, Bulli hammered Cringila 8-0.
