Developer GC Property Holdings Pty Ltd has revealed a proposal for a 10-unit apartment building at 60 Gipps Street, an area mostly populated by one- and two-level detached homes.
According to documents lodged by TCG Planning, the building would have 10 apartments with three one-bedroom units, six two-bedroom units and one three-bedroom unit.
There would also be one level of basement car parking for 13 cars and motorcycle and bike parking.
The multi-storey block, near the corner of Gipps and Keira streets, would replace a single-level weatherboard home and a number of trees near the western property boundary.
It is next door to another potential development site at 62 Gipps Street, where developers gained permission to construct a four-storey, eight-unit building in July 2005.
In an application to Wollongong City Council, planners have noted that there are "a range of residential flat developments up to four storeys in height" along Keira Street.
The proposed building is below the height limit of 16 metres.
Plans will be on display until July 14.
