Maxwell pulled down the screamer on the boundary line while playing for English club Yorkshire in a charity match against local village club Bardsey overnight.
Even England's dismissed batsman, Ed Clayton, had to stop and applaud the effort.
After catching the ball, Maxwell took another big bite of his ice cream – which appeared to be a Cornetto – before tossing the leather back to the keeper.
To top off the catch, the Victorian put on 27 for Yorkshire, helping them to a three-run win.
Maxwell never takes his eye off the ball...
And then snaffles the big grab, without spilling a drop of cream
Social media photos of the incident show him hoeing into the Cornetto moments before the incident.
