Abigail Paduch won five medals to lead a successful contingent from the Illawarra International Judo Club at the Australian Championships in Wollongong recently.

Thirteen members competed in the biggest judo event of the year, and Paduch led the way with a gold in the Senior Kyu grades, plus two silver and two bronze medals.
Anthony Kouros, 17, won gold for a brilliant display in the Junior Men 81kg, with his twin brother, Jordan, claiming silver in Junior Men 81kg and Senior Men 81kg.
Samual Cadorin won a silver in the Senior Boys' 55kg class and combined with Clayton Walker to take home the gold medal in the junior Kata division.
Walker also won an individual bronze in the Senior Boys 40kg division.
Tinka Easton won a fourth gold medal for IIJC in the Junior Women 52kg class.
Seb Diversi was outstanding in winning bronze in the Junior boys 34kg class.
Lavina Woolfe took home a bronze for her efforts in Cadets 57kg.
Paduch was the outstanding athlete from IIJC, winning a gold medal in the Senior Kyu grades, plus bronze in Cadets and Junior Women, and silver in Senior Women's open division.
She won her fifth medal combining with Lavina Woolfe to take the silver in the junior Kata.
James Zahra claimed two individual bronze medals in the Junior Men 55kg and Cadet Men 55kg.
Clint Walker, Michael Arthur, Nicholas Cadorin and Liam Spillane also represented the Illawarra club with distinction against the finest judo exponents in Australia.
