Illawarra had boys and girls teams in under 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s playing at Snakepit, Berkeley and Shellharbour stadiums over two full days of matches.
Illawarra took on teams from Canberra, Shoalhaven, Moss Vale, Goulburn, Albury and Wagga Wagga in the second of three rounds of the annual rep tournament.'
Some teams aspire for a playoff spot in the August finals while others use the tournament to develop their young players in the representative environment.
Illawarra's youngest rep players in under 12s played their matches at the Snakepit and would gained valuable experience against opponents of contrasting standards.
The Hawks Red under 12 girls team beat Goulburn 54-32 and Albury 46-42 and had losses to the two strong Canberra teams.
In boys under 12s, the top Illawarra side beat Moss Vale 81-18 and then overpowered Albury While before having a win over their Division 2 teammates.
The Illawarra Div 2 side lost to Canberra but had a strong 86-20 win over Wagga Wagga.
In under 14s boys Division 1, Illawarra beat Albury 49-48 in a thriller and lost to Moss Vale and Canberra.
In Girls under 14s Division 1. Illawarra lost to two Canberra teams and Wagga, while the Illawarra under 16s girls beat Moss Vale 52-47 after losses to Canberra.
The Boys Illawarra 16s were beaten by Batemans Bay and Canberra and edged out by Shoalhaven in their third game.
Illawarra had teams in under 18s Boys. The Red side lost to Shoalhaven and then beat Moss Vale and the Hawks White team.
The White side had a win over Queanbeyan and narrow loss to Canberra.
The Illawarra Hawks under 18s Girls had narrow losses to Goulburn, Shoalhaven and Moss Vale.
The third round of the Southern Junior League is in late July with the top teams qualifying for the finals in August. Illawarra junior teams were involved in the annual Country Tournament over the June long weekend.
Illawarra won three country titles and made five grand finals.
