Dapto Citizens club-mates John Ferguson and Warren Haviland will meet in a semi-final, while Windang's Rick Malley is two wins from a third Senior Singles title heading into finals day at Corrimal Bowling Club.
Malley won the State Senior Singles title in 2011 and made it two straight Illawarra over 60s singles titles by winning the Zone 16 crown in 2012.
The Windang star won four matches last weekend to qualify for a semi-final clash against top Albion Park bowler Mal Pearson.
Malley won a great battle with Dapto's Jeff Berthaly 31-28 in round one of the Senior Singles, then beat Steve Cheney (Dapto Citizens) 31-23, Laurie Matrini (Fairy Meadow) 31-21 and Dallas Delatorre (Warilla) 31-27 to reach the semis.
Pearson beat Warilla's Brian Entwistle 31-27 in another high standard quarter-final, with three of the four final eight matches decided by four shots or less.
Ferguson edged out Corrimal's Jack Forbes 39-27 in a thriller, while Haviland had a 31-14 win over Ken Hunt (Wiseman Park) to make the semi-finals.
Earlier, Haviland played an inspired match to beat defending Illawarra and State Senior Singles champion Geoff McGillivary (Warilla) 31-30 in a classic round three match at Kembla Heights BC last Sunday.
The Senior Singles semis and final are at Corrimal BC on Saturday week, July 11.
The winner of the Illawarra Senior Singles will represent Zone 16 at the state finals at Ettalong Memorial BC in October.
Meanwhile, Warilla and Windang have four quarter-finalists each for the Illawarra President's Reserve Singles, in a remarkable effort by both clubs.
The President's Reserve Singles is for Illawarra pennant grades five to seven, with Warilla and Windang dominating.
In an all-Warilla quarter-final at Oak Flats BC on Saturday July 11, Chris Cusack will take on Neil Teasdale, winner to meet either Windang's Steve Sprod or his clubmate John Penno.
Warilla's Joshua Balmer takes on Windang's Paul Cable in another quarter-final, with the winner to meet either Scott Kicks (Warilla) or Ari Jarvin (Windang).
