The Wollongong music and entertainment icon called in to catch up with the Harrison family who have generously made their restaurant available for a fundraiser that will attract more than 550 guests on July 21.
In recent weeks many business people and individuals have donated prizes for the balloon auction, silent auction and main auction.
This week Vania Harrison told Wilson how well received the event was being received and how there was so much interest in helping him fight brain cancer that the dinner sold out in one week.
Mrs Harrison’s son Andrew Harrison and Lagoon staff such as Sharon Howson and Emma Goldsmith have been busy pulling everything together with the help of volunteers such as Jenny Jones, of the Cancer Council, and Susan Wallis and Leanne Smith who are running the balloon raffle.
Scott Radburn and Rikki Organ have been busy preparing for emceeing the night and have organised an impressive lineup of entertainment.
The only thing still being sought are a few more more silent auction items.
A major Graham Wilson inspired artwork for the main auction valued at more than $3000 is being unveiled next week by Natalija Vocanec.
Other items being auctioned by Leigh Stewart on July 21 are a Centro CBD 12 month dinner and show subscription for two valued at more than $5000, a Loewe Media 5.1 channel home theatre system from Sturman Electronics valued at more than $4000, a Fender American Special Telecaster electric guitar donated by Pipers Music Wollongong valued at $2199, a signed cricket bat by Brett Lee donated by Jenifer and Doug Symes.
Meanwhile those who can’t attend the fundraiser who would still like to support him can do so by making a donation online at www.lagoonrestaurant.com.au/upcoming-events/graham-wilson-fundraiser/ where a Donate Now button will redirect anyone interested to the Entertainment Assist donations page.
It is then simply a matter of clicking donate and a donation form will appear where a special message to Wilson can be left.
It is also important to tick a check box and entering the name Graham Wilson so the donations can actually make their way to him.
