Seeing a ship that you'll be sailing on in a few weeks time, literally from the bottom up, is awe-inspiring. I visited the 194.3 metre Spirit of Tasmania I  at Sydney's Garden Island shipyard earlier this month, where it was having its routine maintenance as well as a major makeover.
