The Football NSW tournament featured hundreds of boys and girls teams from under 12s through to men's over 35s and All-Age Women competitions.
In a great day for Football South Coast, Shellharbour backed up an excellent 3-1 win over Nepean-based Glenmore Park in their semi-final by coming from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Connells Point in a thrilling penalty shoot-out grand final.
The match was locked 2-2 at full-time after Shellharbour missed a penalty and struck the crossbar in the final minutes and remained at 2-2 through extra time.
Shellharbour held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out to win 5-4 and take the title.
A proud Shellharbour under 13s coach and Junior Club president Yani Sekuloski said it was an inspirational performance by his young side which will drive the next generation of the club to perform with such spirit.
Port Kembla completed a brilliant State Cup run by following up a 2-1 semi-final win over Fairfield Pats (Southern Districts) to beat St Augustines (Manly-Warringah) 1-0 in the grand final.
Emmanuel Kamara scored the 89th minute winner to complete a magnificent team performance by Port.
It was a hectic week for both FSC clubs with Shellharbour making the semi-finals of the Kanga Cup in Canberra and Port reaching the grand final - beaten 3-2 by Capital Football MACTAS - in their eighth game in six days.
Beginning their State Cup run in May, Port Kembla beat Connells Point 2-0 in the round of 32, then overcame Panania RSL 2-1, plus had wins over Kirrawee 2-0 and Fairfield Pats, 2-1, to reach the final.
Shellharbour beat Wakehurst 2-0 in round two, then beat St Clair United 3-0, before a penalty shoot-out win over Mt Pritchard in the quarter-finals and 3-1 win over Glenmore Park in the semis.
In a great tournament for Football NSW, Woonona under 13s boys and Lake Heights under 14s boys made State Cup semi-finals.
