Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester and Lurch are such familiar names they don't even need their surname mentioned to be instantly recognisable.
They are, of course, the Addams family - this time brought to life by actors from the Arcadians Theatre Group, who will stage The Addams Family - A Broadway Musical at the Miner's Lamp Theatre, Corrimal, from July 31 to August 15.
Directed by Malcolm White, the musical follows the story of the ultimate princess of darkness, Wednesday Addams (played by Emily Ritchie), who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family.
Gomez Addams (Rob Galanti) must do something he has never done before - keep a secret about the boyfriend from his wife Morticia (Lauren Eade).
Mr White said the musical, based on the original 1960s black-and-white television series, was outrageously funny.
"The whole situation is just crazy," he said. "In this production, Wednesday has grown up, and Pugsley (co-played by Juan Kuhn and Benjamin Hunter) didn't.
"Wednesday has become 18 and she has fallen in love with a lovely boy but she can't tell her parents because he is normal, in every way, shape and form."
Mr White said in one scene Grandma (Liz Geraghty) makes a full disclosure in a game they play in the first act.
"The things that woman comes out with," he said.
The show had a wow factor that would surprise the audience, which Mr White didn't want to reveal. "Just wait till they see it."
