Despite the unpredictable weather, a man and his bird appeared unfazed - the pair were seen basking in the winter sunshine during a walk through North Wollongong's Stuart Park.
Temperatures at nearby Bellambi - and inland at Albion Park - climbed to 14.5 degrees early afternoon, although icy west-southwesterly winds meant the apparent temperature remained about half that for much of the day.
