Wollongong City Council wants a seat at your dining table.
The council is inviting the community to be involved in its ‘‘Dinner Table Project’’, aimed at providing a snapshot of the variety of families across the local government area.
Residents are invited to submit a photo of their family sharing a meal for an online exhibition.
Several images from the web gallery will then be reprinted and exhibited at Wollongong Central in November.
Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery hoped the project would capture the diversity of families in the city.
“It doesn’t matter whether your family’s big or small, or what its composition is – the one thing we all have in common is that we share meals with our families and friends,’’ he said.
“Rather than focusing on our differences, this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate our similarities, and reflect on the importance of sharing time with loved ones.’’
Families are also encouraged to share their favourite recipes.
Photos can be submitted via the council’s website until October 31.
