Both schools advanced to the final on August 17 through a series of qualifying rounds including regional playoffs in Wollongong and a Sydney South round-robin finals at Loftus last month.
Gerringong PS were unbeaten in the final qualifying round at Waratah Oval, Loftus playing against St Therese Catholic Primary School, West Wollongong, Laguna Street PS and Lilli Pilli PS.
Gerringong had a tight 27-22 win over St Therese with the two teams also meeting in the South Coast regional final at North Dalton Park in May.
In the girls' competition, Flinders beat South Coast neighbours Jamberoo PS and Lucas Heights Community School twice each in their round-robin matches, and won their fifth match against Lucas Heights PS to claim their place at the SCG.
Teams from as far as Coffs Harbour and Albury will play at the SCG, with the final rescheduled from next Monday to August 17.
The final's format will have eight boys and girls teams placed into two pools with the top two sides progressing to the semi-final and then the final.
Sixty-one South Coast schools entered the 2015 Paul Kelly Cup.
The cup is the largest AFL primary school comp in NSW with more than 1000 teams and 15,000 students in years five and six taking part each year.
