Wests Illawarra Aquatic Swim Club won 10 medals including gold to finish as the top South Eastern Swimming Association club at the recent NSW Short Course Country Championships at Sydney's Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Wests' Australian Olympic Games representative Jarrod Poort won gold in the 15 years and over 1500-metre freestyle, while the top Illawarra club also claimed four silver and five bronze medals.
Brendan Eastman had a great meet, finishing second in the 13 years 100m butterfly and third in the 13 years 100m freestyle, while Bailey Crehan secured a silver medal in the 11 years 100m backstroke.
In the girls championships, Sydney Brown swam brilliantly to place second in the 10 years 50m freestyle, with Kaitlin McKeon third in the 15 years and over 200m backstroke, to help lead Wests Illawarra to a fine seventh overall.
Wests Illawarra also competed in 12 relay events, claiming a silver in the girls 15 years and over 4x100m freestyle relay (Kaitlin McKeon, Emily Rosskelly, Hayley Seeney, Caitlin Smith), with Kaitlin McKeon, Alyisha Beckingham, Emily Rosskelly and Hayley Seeney taking bronze in the girls 15 years and over 4x100m medley relay.
In the boys 13-14 years 4x50m freestyle relay (Justus Bacic-Johnston, Jason Vugrek, Emre Hasdiraz, Brendan Eastman) won bronze, with Jarrod Poort, Wes Roberts, Josh King and Vladimir Pan also winning bronze in the boys 15 years and over 4x100m freestyle relay.
Aria Bacic-Johnston, Justus Bacic-Johnston, Alyisha Beckingham, Sydney Brown, Sebastian Buchanan, Aaron Cannon, Dane Corolla, Dannika Creati, Bailey Crehan, Kiana Eady, Brendan Eastman, Jade Gray, Holly Hayne, Bailey Krstevski, Kaitlin McKeon, Max Parkes, Jarrod Poort, Riley Powell, Hayley Seeney, Caitlin Smith, Griffin Spicknall, Daniel St George, Rachael Thompson, Oriane Villiers and Jason Vugrek all finished top 10 in their events.
Of West's 37 swimmers, 33 produced a personal best time.
