One Hervey Bay resident described feeling "a wobble" after the first quake.
A Bribie Island couple reported hearing the windows of their home rattling "for 10 or 15 seconds" and said it was "a weird sensation."
Geoscience Australia confirmed the first earthquake occurred off the Queensland coast at 1.38pm. Initially the quake was reported as a 5.2 but this was upgraded to a 5.7-magnitude.
This afternoon's first quake was about 10 kilometres north-west of Thursday's but is believed to have been felt across a wider region.
The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre says there is no tsunami threat to Australia.
The quake is the second since a 5.3-magnitude rattled the state's south-east on Thursday which was one of the largest ever recorded in the region and was followed by smaller aftershocks.
Thursday's quake was felt across south-east Queensland.
