Kerry Parker will take the first steps towards a possible Group 1 campaign when promising filly Heartlings hits the track at Kembla Grange on Wednesday.
The classy three-year-old will step out in one of seven jump-out heats on Wednesday ahead of a black-type preparation in the coming months.
"She will have a very soft one on Wednesday then hopefully have another one in a couple of weeks," the trainer said.
"I think the next lot are on Monday then she will probably return about a fortnight after that."
Heartlings caught the eye when she broke her maiden status in fine fashion at Rosehill on June 8.
Parker sent the three-year-old straight to the paddock after the run with the hope of bringing her back for a crack at the Spring Carnival.
The trainer has penned in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) on September 5 at Randwick as a likely starting point to Heartlings campaign.
He had nominated the filly for the $1 million Golden Rose.
Heartlings sits 48th in the prizemoney order for the Group 1, but Parker doesn't plan on chasing a run in the three-year-old feature.
"I think she will be better placed in the fillies' races.
"If you throw the nom in it just keeps everything alive," he said.
"Her aim will more likely be the three-year-old fillies' races into hopefully the Flight Stakes."
The Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) will be held on October 3. First Seal took out the feature in 2014 before finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Champion Stakes (2000m) a week later.
Meanwhile, Parker will have one runner at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
La Charge will be piloted by apprentice hoop Brodie Loy in the Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1400m).
Parker scratched the mare from Goulburn on Tuesday in favour of the trip to Sydney.
"We were a little bit concerned with the Goulburn track being dry enough and the mile so we opted to go to Sydney," he said.
"A 1400m Benchmark 65 race in town doesn't come around too often so I thought we better have a crack at that."
Bede Murray will start Sankara Spirit in the same race while Nowra-trainer Luke Price has Lani Girl engaged.
