She's surrounded by "glamours" with thousands of fans and she doesn't think her support base stacks up.

But the former Bellambi girl hopes her gut is dead wrong - she wants the chance to stand on The Voice stage and give Australians "something gentle, something beautiful".

"I don't want it to be over, that's for sure," the 51-year-old powerhouse told the Mercury this week.

"I need this. My career needs this. I'm the oldest one here and I have an album half done, I need this," she said. "But I'm looking around me taking in the whole picture. You've got glamours all around me. I'm a glamour on the inside, not the outside.

"So I've definitely got that feeling that my ride is nearly over. I hope people get behind me."

Page, who had her two biggest fans in Sunday night's audience - her Ulladulla-based son, Joel, and world-famous surfing brother Robbie - is desperate for the chance to show her softer side.

"I've been whaling the whole time, singing heavy and hard, but I can do a lot more," she said.

"I want to get further ... I need it to further my career. I am the oldest one here, I've got an album half done. I'm feeling strong so fingers crossed," she said.

While Page is happy with her performances to date, adjusting to the live shows is not easy.

"It's not like a gig. It just happens so fast. One minute you're getting your hair done and the next you're out on stage and then it's over in a flash. Some contestants are more comfortable with it than others."

Page said her Sussex Inlet teammate, Liam Maihi, was "singing beautifully" so she knew she had some stiff competition.

Both are members of Ricky Martin's team and only one can survive Sunday night's public vote.
