Previous Wollongong bands have gone on to compete nationally with Sydney Girls Choir and Dlinkwnt third in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
Previous winners of the national finals include Jebediah (1995), 78 Saab (1996), Eskimo Joe (1997) and The Vasco Era (2004).
At this year's Wollongong Campus final, the four young bands are also competing for one of the three major prizes, including a recording package from Main Street Studios, a music video package from Laww Media and $500 worth of music gear from Haworth's.
With four very different and talented bands, it will be one of the best finals we've ever seen at the Unibar.
Alt-rockers Vasban had a really tight sound and great audience response in the heats.
Albion Park lads Atticus Arcade write some of the best pop-rock tunes I've ever heard, really impressing the judges in the heats.
Five-piece acoustic folk band Bread and Seaweed have some really diverse and talented members, including flute players and classical guitarists.
Ego Monkey are the freshest thing out of the Shire and have a real 60s/70s classic rock sound.
The final is on Thursday August 20 from 8pm at the UOW Unibar. Free entry.
