The IAS had six athletes compete at the 2015 NSW Junior Road Championships held in Tamworth on August 15 and 16.
Competing in the three road racing disciplines of the Road Race, Time Trial and Criterium, the athletes claimed six medals.
In the Women's U17's, Chloe Heffernan claimed silver in the road race and time trial , while Lucy Cliff claimed silver in the criterium and bronze in the road race and time trial.
In the Men's U17's, Mitchell Wright won silver in the time trial and finished 4th in the Road Race and 4th in the criterium.
Zachary Marshall finished fifth in the road race, 10th in the criterium and 12th in the time trial.
In the Men's U15's, Luke Britten finished sixth in the road race and time trail and ninth in the Criterium, while Samuel Estell finished 13th in the road race and 15th in the time trial.

WINGECARRIBEE MAYORAL RECEPTION
The Mayor of Wingecarribee, Clr Duncan Gair recognised the Academy Scholarship holders from the Wingecarribee Shire Council area at a reception held in the Council Chambers last Thursday.
Triathlete Tayla Croudson spoke on behalf of all athletes and explained how the Academy assists athletes and her in her sport of Triathlon.
The Academy has a close relationship with all five Illawarra Councils, Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee, and the receptions are a strong demonstration of the links between the IAS and local government in the region.

ATHLETE NOMINATIONS FOR 2016 SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS
The Illawarra Academy of Sport is calling for athlete nominations for 2016 Sports Scholarships.
The IAS welcomes nominations for the following sports program scholarships; cycling, golf, lawn bowls, hockey, netball, rugby union, triathlon as well as non-sport specific programs; Athlete Scholarship Program and Athlete with a Disability Program.
The Illawarra has a rich history in developing and elevating athletes to higher representative honours, with the Academy a significant vehicle in the process.
The Academy has produced 11 Olympians (13 medals), 17 Commonwealth Games Representatives (25 medals), 11 World Champions and 69 Senior National Team Representatives over the past three decades.

2015 IAS GOLF DAY
The 2015 Illawarra Academy of Sport Corporate Golf Day will be held on Friday, November 13, at the Kiama Golf Club.
The event includes both breakfast and lunch as well as 18-holes with the opportunity to win numerous prizes.
All proceeds raised go directly to supporting the holistic development of young local talented athletes.
