Nowra-Bomaderry dynamo Steve Brandon expects the under-fire Jets forwards to take charge in Sunday's elimination semifinal against Warilla at Cec Glenholmes Oval.
The reigning premiers hobbled into the post-season with just one win in their past four games, losing key players to injury and dropping from third to fifth.
But the Jets proved last season they are often at their best with backs against the wall.
"We still have a few forwards out and there's a few more that we don't know if they'll play," Brandon said.
"It's up to us to deal with it and do the best we can with the forwards we have. I know a lot of the forwards want to have big games and prove themselves. People have been undermining our pack in recent weeks and this is a huge chance to prove those critics wrong."
The Jets upset Warilla in the 2014 grand final and would love to inflict more pain.
"Thankfully, we won't need any motivation to play against Warilla," he said.
Nowra-Bomaderry embarrassed the Gorillas 66-4 in round seven before Warilla squared the ledger with a 22-18 win in round 16.
The Gorillas ran hot and cold during the first half of the season before hitting their straps and winning their final six games to finish fourth.
Warilla coach Peter Hooper said his side would not be fooled by the Jets's recent poor form.
"They're probably not too worried about it, and when they're on, they're on.
"We'll concentrate on we have to do and, hopefully, that'll work out best. It has for the last six weeks or so."
Prop Damian Paulissen returns for the Gorillas after a one-month lay-off.
Hooper said his team would have to stick closely to Brandon, Geoff Johnson and Kurt Quinlan.
"Those three probably hold the key," he said.
Kiama have elevated Cam Cornell into the starting line-up in place of injured winger Matt Emerson (broken ankle) for Saturday's qualifying semi-final against Gerringong at Michael Cronin Oval.
"There's a good vibe in the whole club," Knights co-coach Matt O'Brien said.
"Our girls are playing down there and so is our reserve grade side, so it should be a good day. They are at home and they came second, so they've got everything to lose down there."
