Cody claimed his biggest win in just his second season of karting by taking out the Micro Max class of the Rotax Pro Tour in his 125 Rotax Micro Max, in his debut in this class.
Held at the famed Eastern Creek Raceway, Cody was fastest in his class and earned the coveted "blue plate" as NSW champion.
It is the first time the Micro Max Class has been held, and it brought together some of the youngest and most promising karters across NSW.
Beside racing his 125 Rotax, Cody recently finished second in the NSW State Championships in Cadet 9 class.
In the three-round series, he finished second in the opening two rounds and won the third to be placed second overall.
The performance was a huge step forward for the Wollongong Kart Racing Club member, who won his Cadet 9 club title in his debut year in 2014 and has won every round in 2015 to date.
Cody dreams of emulating recently retired Aussie Formula 1 driver Mark Webber and rising star Daniel Ricciardo in an F1 career one day.
His passion for karting and everything fast on wheels began at a birthday party a couple of years ago and follows his parents - Simone and Waynea - love of karting.
Cody rode his first motocross bike at the age of four and did some local racing, but has a real love for karting.
"Cody can't get enough of racing," mum Simone said.
"He wants to do it every weekend and we've had to apply a handbrake of sorts.
"But it's lovely to see your child so passionate about something and we're encouraging him in every way we can."
He already holds a place in the heart of the owner of the famous Scuderia PCR factory in Italy.
The Wollongong racer's framed photo is on the Wall of Fame in the PCR factory, underneath the late F1 legend Aryton Senna.
Cody is competing in a host of events through to November, including the Victorian round of the Rotax Pro Tour.
His international debut may not be far away either and, whatever the outcome, Cody will be going flat out.
In his most-recent events, Cody finished second in the final in the Rotax Pro Tour in Puckapunyal and came third in the Victorian State Rotax Pro Tour.
He started the Victorian final in sixth position but drove well to place second.
Wollongong Kart Racing Club is gearing up for a major event, the Metro Cup in Picton in November.
Wollongong, Newcastle, Lithgow, Eastern Creek and Sydney racing clubs will compete over two days with 200-plus drivers expected.
