The i98FM Breakfast Show hosts and ambassadors of the event, Marty Haynes and Fairlie Hamilton were joined at the launch by members of the trucking and motorbike communities, along with Camp Quality kids and families.
The i98FM station manager Sean O'Shannassy said it was exciting to be launching the convoy for its 11th year.
"We're continually grateful to the truckies and bikers who are the heart of the convoy and of course the general public that have gotten behind us from day one," he said.
"We are always blown away by the support given to us from the local business community.
"We have some exciting new additions to this year's event and can't wait to again see the Illawarra come out in force to support our local Camp Quality kids who always inspire us with their bravery."
At the first Illawarra Convoy in 2005, 209 trucks and 100 motorbikes took part, raising $52,232.
Last year's convoy saw 786 trucks and 1031 motorbikes pass through the Illawarra on the 70-kilometre journey, with a total of $1,578,190 raised.
This took the grand total raised for Camp Quality since 2005 to just under $6 million dollars.
This year's convoy will be held on Sunday, November 15.
It will depart from Illawarra Coal's West Cliff Colliery on Appin Road about 8am and follow a route that will take them down Mount Ousley through Warrawong and past Stockland Shellharbour, then onto the Croom Regional Sporting Complex for a free family fun day, where the registered motorbikes and trucks begin arriving about 9am.
