Member for Cunningham Sharon Bird and Throsby MP Stephen Jones penned an open letter, airing their concerns, to then Prime Minister Tony Abbott two weeks ago.
The MPs didn’t receive a reply prior to Mr Abbott’s ousting on Monday night and will write to new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
“They’ve changed the leader, but they haven’t changed the direction of the government,” Mr Jones said.
Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane convened crisis talks about the region’s economy and the viability of BlueScope Steel’s Port Kembla steelworks in Wollongong on September 7.
“Our region can’t tolerate delay in taking action on those matters,” Ms Bird said.
