The 19-year-old will compete in his first full season in the Aussie Legends category, starting in Toowoomba.
Pascoe will be behind the wheel of a five-eighth scale 1934 Chevrolet, powered by a four-cylinder 1250cc Yamaha motor bike engine.
Competing in 37 races at 20 tracks, the cars can reach 190 kilometres per hour and are built using strictly standardised rules to ensure close and exciting racing.
“With the power to weight ratio, you certainly feel like you’re going fast,” Pascoe said.
“You’re also only sitting 30 centimetres off the ground.
“The category is still pretty new here, but it’s really increasing in popularity in Australia, because the cars and running costs are affordable.
“I’ve been racing go-karts for eight years and have been going to the speed way my whole life, so this was the perfect way to step up into something different.”
Pascoe’s first goal is to build consistency through top 10 finishes, but he is optimistic about delivering another victory, which happened when he trialed in the category last season. The cars also race as the undercard to the Australia sprint car series, allowing Pascoe to see his racing dream up close. An apprentice boilermaker, Pascoe fundraising to do a stint in the US series in June next year.
“It will be a great experience,” he said. “It’s all scheduled close together.
“It’s really big there, they get great crowds, I can’t wait to be part of it.”
