Blasting is already under way at Toolijooa Ridge and will start at a second site, near Austral Park Road, later this month.

The first blast will take place on Tuesday, September 29 between 1pm and 3pm.

As many as 20 blasts will be needed.

They will occur twice daily on Tuesdays until completion.

Blasting will also start near Tindalls Lane on Thursday, October 1.

A total of 50 blasts are expected before the work is completed in late 2016.

Material gained from the blasting is being crushed on site and used in other parts of the project.
