But, luckily, agents Mulder and Scully are itching get back in harness and find out what we are not being told.
It can only mean one thing – the X Files are about to be re-opened after 13 years, and now we have some sketchy detail of the upcoming revival thanks to a new two-part trailer dropped by Fox.
The long-running cult series from the 90s will once again star David Duchovny as disheveled agent Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as his down-to-earth sidekick, Dana Scully.

Lung cancer has yet to claim the Cigarette Smoking Man, who is also glimpsed in the trailers. The voice accompanying an image of a hand holding a lit cigarette ("We have a small problem") belongs to William B Davis, the badass tobacco hound who was the cause of much of Scully and Mulder's orignal grief.
The new series will comprise six episodes and is slated for release in the US in late January.
