A bionic hand designed and created by four students from Figtree High School, will be named as winner of the inaugural Think Invent Make Evaluate competition on Friday.

The competition was organised by Wollongong 3D printing firm ModFab as a way to highlight to teens the necessary skills vital for the future workforce.
Chad Dewhurst, James Kuzman, Tiffanie Doan, and Chris Kiotis will be presented with a $1500 cheque for their school during the MindShift forum as part of the Blender Festival.
Entries were judged on their design integrity, creativity, usefulness, beauty and description.
“We put a lot of effort into our entry,” said Miss Doan. “We did an entire arm as well, not just the hand.”
The competition has been run in the Illawarra as a pilot in 2015, with the aim of expanding it to the rest of NSW in 2016.
