I see it all too often, a person that comes into the gym gets their program and goes into automatic pilot for that next hour. They do the same routine, same exercises, same sets. You can almost predict the next piece of equipment they will go to next.

Now, it’s great they are coming to the gym, don’t get me wrong, they are burning calories and getting their bodies moving, but they could be doing much more.
I want to equip you with a few small changes that may refresh your current program, whether you are doing weights or cardio.
Do your warm up on a totally different piece of equipment.
Change the speed, set or rep numbers and amount of recovery when performing weights. This stimulates the muscles fibres differently and can create greater strength gains.
Use a different cardio machine to complete your sprint/ interval session.
Start your weights sessions with core work, not at the end to engage your core more during your session.
If you are isolating body parts with your resistance program change the days in which you do a certain part of your body, this will break your daily routine and refresh your session.
These small changes will essentially create a total new dynamic for your current regime and potentially open the door to a refreshed and energetic session.
