Back-up guards Kevin White and Tyson Demos have already seen plenty of court time throughout the NBL Blitz and the Hawks’ final pre-season hit-out against Townsville.
The pair started in the club’s 95-87 victory over the Crocodiles when Martin was absent and Kevin Lisch on a minutes restriction.
Their performances earned the praise of coach Rob Beveridge.
‘‘I had to put Kev White and Tyson in the one-spot, which was good for them to experience,” he said.
‘‘When I brought Kev Lisch into the game it was 100 per cent complete control. He’s that good.
‘‘We’ve had to put Whitey and Tyson in a position that they probably haven’t been used to, and they’ve learnt an enormous amount from that.
“It showed when we’re down at three-quarter time and win by eight.
“We came home like a hurricane.”
