But Mark Shelley’s theatrical tribute could well fill a need in the hearts of fans of the 1960s folk rock icons.
Mr Shelley - who takes the role of Simon to John Robertson’s Garfunkel - said the show gives fans a chance to remember the pair.
‘‘With the audiences, most of them are 50-plus and you can see them getting transported back to where they were when they first heard the songs,” Mr Shelley said.
‘‘It’s a lovely kind of communication from the stage to the audience and back.’’
Mr Shelley said this wasn’t a covers band.
‘‘It’s actually a show, so we’re not pretending to be the people,’’ he said.
The show is at the IPAC on October 10.
