It comes as no surprise that Illawara skipper Oscar Forman sits at the top of the list of active players when it comes to three-point shooting percentage (42.27).
New recruit Kirk Penney is nipping at Forman’s heels in second place overall with accuracy of 41.10 while last year’s club MVP Tim Coenraad is fourth 39.74 meaning the Hawks occupy three of the top four spots on the list. Coenraad is also second overall for free-throw shooting behind Townsville’s Todd Blanchfield.
Coenraad said coach Rob Beveridge has already given his sharp-shooters a licence.
“He’s said if there’s an open shot you need to take it because that’s your job in the team,” Coenraad said.
‘‘With guys like me Ozzy, Kirk, Kev...we’ve got a lot of shooters on the team so if we’re open we expect them to shoot it no matter where we are on the shot clock.
