Positive psychology coach Jodie Cooper agrees and is giving business people the chance to learn how they can increase their productivity while supporting a good cause.
It comes at a time when sectors of the Illawarra economy are doing it tough and workers in some industries are being shed.
But other sectors are growing and there may be more potential for growth.
Mrs Cooper thinks there are many benefits to employers and employees being happier.
She is running a workshop in early November to explore ways to deliver positivity to employees.
Many studies show that in most cases being more positive improves productivity and profitability.
So she is holding the workshop at the Novotel on November 5 and giving all proceeds to SCARF (Strategic Community Assistance to Refugee Families).
“I believe that it’s positive people who are going to change our world and make our community a better place for everyone,” she said.
