And that is definitely what Warrawong business Finance Control is doing for local charity KidzWish.
The financial planning and investment services business is a major sponsor of KidzWish and is donating $25,000 as it prepares for the annual fundraising ball on November 20.
Finance Control’s directors Paul Rawson and James Boon understand the importance of what sponsoring the KidzWish Charity Ball will do.
They know it will help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children living in the Illawarra.
They started helping the local charity eight years ago.
“What attracted us to support The KidzWish Foundation were the synergies of the philosophies of the foundation and the philosophies of our business,” Mr Rawson said.
‘’Events such as the annual charity ball raise both money and awareness and enables KidzWish to make progress in key areas.’’
Mr Rawson said Finance Control was an organisation that provided advice to families.
So it could clearly relate to the financial needs of children in need.
KidzWish Foundation marketing manager Karouna Micheal said the charity ball dinner aimed to raise $200,000.
Mr Micheal said the $25,000 from Finance Control was a fantastic start.
“All funds raised will be put towards building a new KidzWish Place in Flinders,” he said.
Tickets are already 60 per cent sold.

Mr Micheal said the 2015 ball is shaping up as another great success. And that is important.
“In the last 12 months alone over 500 local children relied on a KidzWish Program and over 134 conditions have been supported,” he said.
Tickets can be purchased at kidzwish.org.au or on 1300 260 990 and corporate tables of 10 are available for those interested in a night of love, laughter, dancing and fun.
The emcee is George Donikian and the entertainment line-up includes Peter Helliar, Laserman, Greg Page, Mick on Wheels and Johnny Spitz. There is also a KidzWish Peter Pan.
