It looked to be every bit the Lisch show when he sat Beal on his backside off the dribble but it proved the turning point of the match with the Cats talisman marching up the court and hitting a pull-up triple in response.
It was the start of a 14-point onslaught in the final seven minutes that sealed the Wildcats’ win.
“I think there was a sniper in the gym,” Beal joked post-match.
“Lisch made a good move on me, power to him. That’s basketball and I knew I had to come back at him on on the next possession
“It was a battle and sometimes I get emotional and that’s what happens.
“The game’s 40 minutes so even if we’re down by 10 with five minutes left all we need is a couple of stops and a couple of buckets and you can steal a win and we did.”
