The Dragons have been placed in the Piha pool alongside the Cronulla, Canberra and the Gold Coast for the the two-day tournament to be staged February 6-7 next year.
They will take on the Raiders first up on day one ahead of their second clash against the Sharks – who reached last year’s final – in the afternoon. They will face the Titans on day two ahead of a potential finals matches to round out the tournament.
On paper the Waiheke pool appears to be the ‘pool of death’ featuring finals regulars the Roosters, Rabbitohs and Storm alongside Parramatta.
The Hanua pool is also stacked with Manly, Brisbane, Canterbury and the Warriors all vying for two spots.
Newcastle, North Queensland, Penrith Panthers and Wests Tigers will battle it out in the Rangitoto pool.
